- 100% of ROSA’s works is funded by your generosity of $$$. Your monetary contributions fuel this fight. Without your money, ROSA cannot hire the experts necessary to take on the Town of Ramapo and the proposed Monsey-based developer, Scenic Development LLC.
While the bulk of the effort taking place is being done by volunteers, it is vitally necessary to hire key engineers, planners and lawyers with specific expertise in this area to help direct ROSA’s efforts and provide testimony at the public hearings. We also have to reach a greater audience by more than just word of mouth. A fraction of your contributions will support ROSA’s outreach.
Your home is an investment. Imagine the negative impact of a development of this size on the character of your community. Imagine as well the potential impact to the important and necessary open space that provides the drainage to the sole source aquifer which most of us rely on for our household water.
When you get a leak in your roof, you fix it. When a tree falls on your house, you remove it. When an appliance fails, you buy another. This call to action is no different than paying for any repair. It’s unfortunate, ill-timed, and may even difficult to financially bear, yet it needs to be done.
We are asking all working families to consider donating the equivalent of 5 hours of their wages. This would be a fair way to spread the cost to everyone according to his or her means. Whether you can donate only $25 or $2,500, every dime will be appreciated. Please consider donating at least $200. That’s about what it costs in Rockland County to buy or repair most anything.
ROSA is a not-for-profit organization and has already hired an engineer/planner [Planit Main Street], a hydrologist and consultant. ROSA has also retained a law firm [Tabner, Ryan, and Keniry, LLP] to represent our community interests.
