Hi! I’m interested in following what’s happening with Patrick Farm, as well as Matterhorn Nurseries and other places of interest in Rockland. Is this organization still functioning?
Yes we are still functioning but the website needs work. We are looking for volunteers. We recommend everyone ensure they are on the mailing list. To sign up go to: http://eepurl.com/hm28ZX
My wife and I attended the meeting on 9/13 at the Ramapo Town Hall. At the I was surprised that no one asked how the Mineseongo development would benefit the residents of Pomona. Lots of questions, no answers. It’s time we started really holding people in office accountable for their actions and their disservice to the residents of Pomona
If there were no impact to the surrounding community then there is no reason to not approve a rezoning so the real question relates to how can the Town Board justify impacting neighbors when there are impacts. When there are large projects that are expected to impact the environment (which includes things like traffic, visual impacts, community character, infrastructure, community services) then the Lead Agency (here the Town Board) is suppose to declare the project will have such impacts and then study them. In the context of studying the downside of a project in a formal Environmental Impact Statement, that is the vehicle for analyzing the positive impacts to the community. The Town did not notice neighbors of the project that it was considering a specific in the context of the generic environmental impact study that it did. This has really complicated the situation and really obfuscated the review process. You have plenty of time to make these comments to the Town Board and if you will be impacted you should do so. To see how a Town Planner trying to do his job makes this point that you are making now see this document written and treated as confidential for the Patrick Farm back in 2009: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/7i0kmx40won5w35bjzay1/2009-07-14-FP-Clark-to-Klein-re-spot-zoning.pdf?rlkey=w7ayzk4ucdadfzdrgjfi3640f&dl=0
