Meeting for Vote Announced – Thursday 1/6/11 @ 8p.m.

Yesterday (1/3) the Town of Ramapo Planning Department quietly posted on their website their plans to hold a special meeting this Thursday night 1/6/11 at 8pm at Town Hall to decide on whether or not to give Preliminary Approval the proposed development of the Patrick Farm.

This meeting “announcement” was only just made public so we have little time to spare to make sure we fill the room with concerned citizens and ROSA members to bear witness to what we believe will be yet another very bad decision in a long line of many made with regard to the Patrick Farm and its development.

Please understand that we are at the beginning stages of ROSA’s involvement regarding this proposed sub-division and high density, multi-family housing complex. ROSA believes this project is being ushered through without proper consideration and the requisite “Hard Look” by the Town of Ramapo Planning Department, evident by this quickly and quietly planned meeting, despite the fact that the Planning Board has had little time to consider or prepare to answer the multitude of legitimate comments and issues we and others raised at the last public hearing date on 11/29 and submitted by the Dec.15th deadline for written comment.

This is why ROSA has retained legal counsel to examine the legalities of the Town of Ramapo’s actions thus far regarding this project. ROSA will continue to use all legal processes available to us to hold the Town accountable regarding the Patrick Farm property.

Please join us for this important meeting and spread the word though out our community about this impromptu meeting notice.
